A health mentor and researcher Dr. Camara-Besa was born on March 2, 1915. She has worked on the sodium and potassium substance of Philippine foods and established principles useful in the research of diets. Her series of eight papers on Cholesterol levels in relative to diets of a variety of segments of the Filipino given an Idea of the Importance epidemiological basic Data on Filipino residents, which are very significance of fats, and Cholesterol in the Epidemiology of Atheroscleriosis among Filipinos.
Dr. Camara-Besa’s several studies were rewarding. She was a Barbour Scholar, University of Michigan from 1939 to 1940 and established different honorary and learned Societies.
